Working on Winter days

Saturday, December 5, 2009

This morning started on the wrong foot. Why? dun dun dun... I totally over-slept and was late for work! :o(
So I was having this really nice dream, which I can't recall (hate it when that happens, especially when it's good, so not worth being late for) and in the middle of the dream, reality sunk it, then I remembered about work. I woke up at 10:20 and I had to be at work AT 10:30. The only problem is that it takes me 30 minutes to drive to work.

+ I literally rolled out of bed, changed into my work clothes, and grabbed the keys. No time to eat, shower, prepare, or brush my teeth! My hair was nappy, I had drool on my face, my morning breath kicked in. I was a hot mess.

+ I wasn't as stressed out, I just took a deep breath, turned off the radio, and just drove to work in silence. I was thankful that I had the essential neccessities in my trunk. I had a toothbrush + tooth paste + facial cleanser + make-up + brush + extra clothes = made work much more workable.

+ I was bummed out I couldn't get my Starbucks before work, so I looked forward to getting it after work.
I ordered a Venti Non-fat Caffe Latte with Pumpkin Spice. It was very enjoyable and worth getting again.

Pointing at the text above!

I have been incorporating chia seeds with my snack: Rice cake and PB.
Last week, I had this snack while I was lifeguarding (while still keeping a close watch). I was hoping that no one would come up and talk to me because I was certain the chia seeds would manifest their way to my teeth. Unfortunately, someone did come to talk to me! I was self-conscious, but she made me feel at ease and we talked and I forgot about the situation. When she left, I went to check my smile through the window. Sure enough! my teeth were infested with chia seeds, I kind of giggled to myself.

+ I actually felt bad for the women who came and talked to me, she was probably struggling whether or not to tell me that I had something(s) in my teeth. (At least that is what I'd like to think). The thought of me making her feel uncomfortable put a smile on my face :o) haha

+ Well, now I gotta do more work. I'm going to listen to Michael Buble again, drink my pumpkin spice latte, and relax write papers.

(edit): I was craving something sweet! and I came home to this...

Donuts! knowing the bloat, guilt, and sugar crash it would bring...
Instead, I reached for this...

A perm...mission? permisson? haha no clue.
Hope your weekend is a relaxing one.

I am beyond impressed you turned down donuts for (think I'm spelling it right!) persimmon. But I do have a huge crush on persimmons at the moment. They are pretty incredibly sweet for something so natural.
